Hey, I'm sorry I've been so quiet....I'm working hard on a new collection of jewelry that I'm really excited about!! last weekend I took an awesome class using Silver Art Clay. It was so much fun!! I'll didn't get a chance to take pictures but we make rings and large beads and pendants using Silver Art Clay. This clay is so awesome.....It looks and feels like ordinary clay but when you fire it, It turns into pure silver. You can even fire it on your stove top while you make breakfast. It only take 5 minutes. I'll be back with photos

I'm so excited. I'm on vacation from work and all I can think about is getting in my glass studio and creating some lampwork beads. I have a new design idea that I can't wait to play with. You will see it first.......

Hey!!

Hey...hope everyone had a great day today. The weather was beautiful earlier today. Fall is my most favorite time of year. I'm looking forward to the transition of summer into fall.

I made another set of cupcake beads that I have to photograph to show everyone. I also made this large hollow vessel. This is a first for me....I usually don't make large hollow beads and I never had the patience to make handles on them to create vessels, but this one came out nice....I put it up on ebay item# 180156403621

More Cupcakes

Hello,

I'm back to show off some more glass goodies. These are my latest cupcakes 10 new glass beads various sizes and shapes. These beads did not photograph as well as I would have liked. I played around with using a lot of crushed glass for the decorations on top of the cupcakes. I think it gives it a more realistic look. These are so much fun to make!! I also made a huge hollow vessel. I'll post images of that tomorrow stay tuned.....

P.S I listed these on Ebay

Hello!

Today I just want to talk a little about the process of my glass art. All of my beads are created using a process called "Lampworking". Not sure why it's called that but basically I melt long rods of glass, wrap it around a stainless steel rod over a hot flame. I use a propane oxygen torch but you could also an inexpensive mapp gass torch from home depot. The Oxygen and Propane makes for a hotter flame as a result it's faster to create lots of beads and you can also change the size of the flame for more detailed designs. Most of my glass comes from Italy...but I do have other glass that I like to experiment with. Here is a picture of my glass collection...

and here is a picture of my torch

Hi everyone!!

Hope everyone is staying cool. I tried to sit at the torch to make beads today but I was way too hot!! My beads from last week are ready. Here is a photo of the two I'm most proud of. These hearts are huge...my biggest yet....... measuring 1" 1/2 long and 1" 1/4 wide and 1/4" thick.

I'm working on more cupcake beads and a really big hollow bead with sculptural floral designs. What kind of beads would you like to see?? Leave a comment and let me know!!
